Best wood for a guitar?
I'm building an electric guitar. It has a custom, but similar to a TV (but with hyphens, the curves) I have a mahogany / rosewood neck (before buying) and can not understand what wood to use for the body. From Which wood would give me the best sound quality and durability? Originally I used the ash, but I messed up the center line.
Swamp Ash Teles I (softer and lighter) or alder. If you see the grain of the wood ash is much better. I do not for maple solids, and very few companies used. It is too difficult and too heavy. Very light Fender sound wood did not use maple body of one of its solid-body guitars. Only the neck. Gibson used to the "roof" of the Les Paul, but 90% of body is mahogany, and the use of Humbuckers Pauls, not only as spirals Tele.
