What kind of electric guitar would be good for Pink Floyd and Dream Theater covers?

Starting a band, and we will be playing a lot of Pink Floyd and Dream Theater, and we need another guitar, any suggestions?

I get exactly Pink Floyd sound from a S101 standard EBT22 into a Yamaha GW10 pedal; into a Digitech RP100 pedal; into a Marshall 100w head with a 4 speaker cabinet.

well, it all depends on your opinion and what kind of sound you like. If you like a vintage-type fuzz than definately get the MXR fuzzface. If you want to save a couple of bucks than get the dunlop arbitor fuzzface becasue they sound pretty similar(the MXR fuzzface is slightly better quality). I would get the Electro-Harmonix little big muff along with another fuzz pedal, because it is not that vesatile for fuzz, but it is extremely versatile in general. So, if I were you I would get the Mxr fuzzface AND the electro-harmonix little big muff.( if you have enough money to spare) Hope I helped!

Is a firebird as good as a tele?

Been playing an american tele for years. love it, but love the design of the firebird and the sound of a gibson. can't find a firebird in a store to try out, so i was planning on getting a semi-hollow tele. Should i hold out for the gibson or say screw it.

I like the neck width on the tele and the bright tone. Perfect for the dirty rock 'n' roll i play. Use a blues driver through a '70's twin. I know the firebird will be heavier. I can live with that.
So no one's played the firebird?
oh, and I broke the hell out of my tele. and it was purple. it's time for a new guitar.

They are definitely two different guitars. The Gibson, due to the humbuckers, has a much beefier sound. I like Gibson and Fender for their different qualities. I have a Strat and a Les Paul.

Falling water through the blades of turbines of a hydroelectric plant cause wires to spin cutting through magnetic fields which induces an electric current in the wire.

Unless, of course, you want to drop solar cells, nuclear reactors, or wind generators to pull ropes and spin generators..............;-)

why do plastic replacement blades say "for gas trimmers only"? will they work on my electric string trimmer?

i would rather use the replacement plastic blades or a plastic attatchment of some kind instead of the string. the string is really a headache to wind, but mine is an electric string trimmer and the weed thrasher plastic blades say they are for "gas trimmer only"
would it hurt my electric trimmer to put them on it?

The RPS's and torque is not enough for an electric trimmer. sorry

i need to know how to hook up my patch cords to a kicker amp 1000.1 to a zx650.1 kicker amp,?

I'm not too sure what you mean patch cords. Are you talking about the RCA cables? Sounds like you want to run 2 amps. you can run 2 channel rca's back to one amp and use the RCA output from the first amp to the seconds input, or split the lines at the headunit with an rca splitter and run 2 separate 2 channel rca lines back to each amp.
But I was browsing your amps, and are you sure the 650.1 isnt a 650.4. I didnt really find many related items to a 650.1. I'm pretty sure you have a 650.4 4 channel amp for your speakers and the 1000.1 for your subs. That would make more sense than 2 different sized amps for subs.
You can run the 2 channel rca cable from the headunit to the 1000.1 and a 4 channel rca cable to the 4 channel.
If you do not have an aftermarket radio with 6 channel outputs, you need to get one, or buy a line output converter (sometimes known as a line driver). This attaches to your speaker leads and gives you a rca output. However, with your kind of system I would go with a unit that is better and will give you good sound with a factory deck. The JL cleansweep csl441dsp is perfect for this type of application and made for any factory deck.

What is the difference between a JAZZ electric bass, and a PERCISION electric bass?????? SOUND??????LOOKS??????? how many types of basses are there?????

There are thousands of brands of basses- a Jazz bass is made by Fender and it has a smaller neck than the Precision bass also made by Fender. If you go to Fender's website you can see the differences, i personally prefer the Fender Jazz to a precision. They do sound different, rock and punk usually choose the Precision while other types of music often choose the Jazz - slap bass players like the Jazz also-but you can find your own sound and play any style with either one. What to buy: E-guitar or Xbox360?

What should I buy? An electric guitar or a xbox360?
I'm dying to have both, but since I can't afford it, I have to decide for one of them...

Some details..

- I'd really love to play Devil May Cry 4 and other numerous games on the xbox360, which is going to be modded... however, I don't have a LCD TV, just a normal CRT.

- As for the guitar, not so sure if it's a women attraction anymore, since kinda a lot of ppl. start playing guitar too. And the "negative" part, I never played guitar before, but I'm prepared to teach myself...

well, guitar is plenty of an attraction if you have skill AND display it, even if its just a talent show. but, xbox takes much less skill (to have fun, that is) and is easier. guitar takes time, patience, practice, and more knowledge overall but if you are succesful you'll be the center of attention at campouts, shows, and even at home. xbox has much variety tho. so many games already, plus whatever is unreleased, so its a fair debate. if it was guitar vs GH or something, itd deff be a real one. to decide, take into account teh long term effects too. where will xbox get you? very few jobs would include that in your resume. guitar helps you relax with something YOU make (music) and makes people like yet another attribute. and if you think guitar lacks attraction, i know maybe 2 girls that would be attracted to an xbox...

Help me choose a guitar?

I have a Washburn bass and a Greg Bennett electric guitar and I'm thinking of buying something else should I buy a flying v or an acoustic electric?

Flying v's are pretty awkward especially if you ever like to play sitting down, because the shape makes it dang tough. I think an acoustic electric would be a great addition to your collection, since you already have an electric and a bass.

What Would be better (GUITARS)?

I really want an epiphone Les Paul Jr. and I can afford it but I have a Greg Bennett Malibu also. Which would you reccomend?

how do you sand down a guitar neck?

i want to sand my neck down cause its to thick. after i sand it down how do i re polish or varnish or whatever they do. its a dean vendetta and it isnt a painted neck. but i dont know what they do to seal it or polish varnish or whatever they do to it.. or is it already just bare wood?

The simple answer is - you don't!

Sanding down the neck will destroy it. You will never be able to get it perfectly smooth and even. Replace the neck with a more slender one.

How to care for polished aluminum?

Hi Everyone, I have had the frame, rotors, pegs, just about everything that I could on my GSXR 750 polished and now I have a J.O.B on my hands. What is the best technique and products to keep my bike shining. It is so much work!!! I wish I had them chromed instead. Anyway, water under the bridge. HELP!! I HAVE WATER SPOTS!!!

Theres no doubt about it,it's hard work,but it pays off.The only way is to hand polish them.I found that extreme works really well.On the bright side,i'd still polish,before chrome.The polish finish is pretty much for ever as long as you keep up with it,and chrome is not no matter what you do.To me a polished finish looks alot better then chrome.Chrome looks to ghetto.

Gap between P-Trap and Pop-Up under Bathroom Faucet?

The pipes underneath our bathroom faucet were leaking really bad, so I replaced the pop-up and the p-trap. The problem is that the new pop-up doesn't reach all the way to the p-trap...there is about an inch and a half gap inbetween the two. I tried a pvc extension pipe, but it was too long and didn't fit. Any suggestions on how to bridge the gap?

The Pop-up is made of chrome-steel and the p-trap is PVC pipe, if that makes a difference.

Cut the ext.pipe off, the tail pcs. thats not long enough you can cat that off alittle to so the nut on the ext.will work. you can cut it off with a reg.copper cutter. or you can buy a 1 1/4 x 12 ext thats threaded both ends and cut off what you need

Paul Reed Smith Guitar Question?

Ok, im thinking about getting a Prs, I dont like double cuts and I dont want a hollow body. I currently own a gubson les oaul classsic antique and a strat. Ive been looking at the Single Cut 245 and thesingle cut 250, whats the difference and can you attach a wammy bar?

Man, Im a Gibson Les Paul guy too. Never could play a strat because the volume knob gets in the way. I recently went to an Explorer and am in love with the body shape and feel of it. I have tried PRS's and I would highly sugest if you get one to get one with with a whammy already installed. Because PRS has that stupid wrap around bridge (like an older Gibson SG Junior) and it will never intonate as good as an adjustable bridge.

If it aint got a tune-o-matic bridge, I dont want it!

I know Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle have baritone guitars from paul reed smith but are the baritones even on the market to buy or do you have to special order them?

I wouldn't have kept Arenas so early, those are a lot of games to save for later when he would only have 50 games left.

Telfair, West, Williams are possibilities of dropping.

I would add Wright because he's playing a good amount right now and Harrington is likely not to play until he's traded. By then, you'd be able to find another suitable player to replace him with.

You might want to hold on to Williams as Josh Smith is out.

Telfair and West are inconsistent enough to drop and pick up other players that may steal the opportunities of injured players.

Look at injured Calderon and reserves Will Solomon or Ukic.
Out 4 weeks Tony Parker and reserves Roger Mason or George Hill etc. Do some research.

fix my 89 Ford Bronco?

I have a Ford Bronco 89 that "should" have a 5.0 302 engine, the problem is I need a new distributor and buy 5 and can not find the right .. none of them fit. Most (the dealer) I bought the tree bottom is round and when I looked in the block, the hole is shaped like a crescent, its hard to explain, but I need to know what year or engine Another had this type of distributor of the trees. Only if you're wondering if the former is when I bought it.If anyone can help it would be great, but I know no one can even auto parts store.

PUT OUT 302 High engine, perhaps in 1988 or1989 Mustang or something similar. You must tell the parts store, which is a High Output engine, or you the right part.
